Meet the Women Behind the Movement

Heather Nunery | Founder of Delaware Female Creatives

Heather is the founder of Delaware Female Creatives, a community created to connect, support, and elevate women-owned businesses across Delaware. What began as a passion project has grown into a movement focused on visibility, collaboration, and real community.

Heather is an award-winning designer, creative strategist, and entrepreneur with a background in graphic design, marketing, user experience, and community-building. She is a Multimedia & UX Designer, the founder of HMV Designs and La Nunery Apothecary, and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Human-Centered Design.

Through Delaware Female Creatives, Heather is passionate about creating spaces where women in business feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. Her vision is to build more than a network — a true community where women help women lead, connect, and thrive.

Ashlee Makuch | Photographer, Event Creative & Community Partner

Ashlee brings creativity, warmth, and a thoughtful eye for both storytelling and event experiences to Delaware Female Creatives. As an award-winning photographer, event planner, and creative, she has a passion for capturing meaningful moments and designing intentional experiences that bring people together.

As the owner of Ashlee Emerson Photography and Poppy & Prim Events, Ashlee brings her experience in event planning, styling, coordination, and visual storytelling to the DFC community. From developing event concepts and creating thoughtful guest experiences to managing the details that bring an event to life, she plays an important role in planning Pretty in Pink and other community-centered events and collaborations.

Her creativity, attention to detail, and heart for supporting women-owned businesses help make DFC events feel welcoming, memorable, and uniquely ours.
